PaliCanon.Online aims to offer a complete, unabridged edition of the Pāli Canon, presented in a format that is both beautiful and practically accessible. Our vision includes:
- High-quality downloadable editions
- Print-friendly versions for study and preservation
- A digital infrastructure that makes the Canon usable for everyone, from casual readers to serious scholars
At present, the reader is a fork of Yuttadhammo Bhikkhu’s Digital Pali Reader, which has long served as a valuable tool for students of the Canon.
Looking ahead, PaliCanon.Online intends to develop its own fully-featured, open-access reader designed to:
- Support deep engagement with the texts
- Enable cross-tradition exploration (including Chinese Āgamas and Mahāyāna sūtras)
- Foster a vibrant community of readers, translators, and practitioners
We believe the Canon belongs to everyone. Our goal is to make it not only available, but inviting.
